PERSONAL EXPERIENCES
Born and raised in small town Pennsylvania, Krasinski’s experiences related to taking care of her body started early.
Due to the development of scoliosis, she was in two different back braces and 1 research study by 6th grade. During the summer of 8th grade, she had a 13 hour spinal fusion. Her life situation demanded her to figure out how to move her body by herself, without any professional help and guidance. This prompted her to get into the field of Exercise Science.
In 2022, Katie tore her left hip labrum and had to undergo major hip arthroscopy labral repair surgery in January of 2023. Following that surgery, in September of 2023, she had the same surgery done with her right hip. In nine months, Katie had to learn how to walk from scratch two times.
Today, she educates and trains others about health, wellness, and body care with a philosophy molded from not just textbooks and practical hands on work, but from different trials, tribulations, and lessons she has had to go through in her own life.
Fact: According to a 2019 study by the Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, only 9% of older adults in the United States practice any form of resistance or weight lifting exercises.
CAREER EXPERIENCES
Katie is certified through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association holding the title of Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC). Outside of her personal life experience, she has had many different stops on her career path.
Most recently, she served as the Fitness Director for over 5 years at Structure House, which is the nations leading residential weight management and holistic health facility.
In 2019, she spent a large portion of time at the University of Maryland where she was mentored by a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach (MSCC). While there, she trained all student-athletes within Olympic Sports.
She has interned at Green Mountain at Fox Run (an all women’s weight management program), Structure House, and has had a variety of work experiences through the YMCA and Lock Haven University. She holds both a Master of Science in Human Movement and Sport Psychology and a Bachelors in Fitness Management and Exercise Science from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania.
She conducted her capstone research which was titled “Individual appraisals of adverse childhood experiences: the influence of resiliency and coping strategies on weight loss management outcomes”. You can go to the research page to read more.
Fiction: If you are not dripping sweat, it is not an effective workout. This is FALSE. Sweating is not an indicator whether something is effective or not. It is simply our bodies way of regulating its temperature. We can sweat at rest.
The heart of her training philosophy is based on two specific principles. The first, exercise and movement are preventative and medicinal in nature. The second, we should train to maximize the effectiveness of each adaptable physiological system of the human body.
Katie is a movement specialist and exercise expert who is highly sought after for her ability to analyze and improve both the human body and mind. She has trained thousands of bodies of all ages and abilities, including professional athletes competing in the NFL, UFC, and MLB, as well as Olympic athletes. Outside of competitive athletics, Katie’s speciality is working with people who have both physical and mental barriers to exercise. She is looking to improve clients overall holistic wellness and current body ability, no matter where they are starting.
